Spending time with her late husband Rob Kay at their home on the Island bird watching and enjoying the peace and tranquility.
Erna, spent many years living on beautiful St. Joseph’s Island where she had wonderful memories of her family visiting
Erna was predeceased by her sister Janet Dwars, and brother Joseph Burghout. She is survived by Betsy Closs, Jim Burghout and Ben Burghout
Erna was predeceased by her son Brian Sired. She is survived by her daughters Laura Melton, and Cathy Grant as well as her sons Eric Sired and Steven Sired.
Erna will be missed by her family, including many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will also be missed by a wonderful group of friends that she’s collected over the years.
Erna Irene Kay, born on July 14, 1943, in Appledorn, Holland, was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Most recently residing in Sault Ste. Marie, ON, Canada, Erna found immense joy in spending time with her late husband Rob Kay at their home on the Island, indulging in bird watching and cherishing the tranquility and serenity it offered.
Having lived on beautiful St. Joseph's Island for many years, Erna held a special place in her heart for the island and treasured the precious memories of her family visiting. She was predeceased by her sister Janet Dwars and brother Joseph Burghout, but is survived by her siblings Betsy Closs, Jim Burghout, and Ben Burghout.
Erna faced the pain of losing her son Brian Sired, but leaves behind a legacy of love through her surviving children: Laura Melton, Cathy Grant, Eric Sired, and Steven Sired. Her loss will be deeply felt by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a cherished group of friends she had gathered throughout her life.
Erna Irene Kay's unwavering love for her family, the beauty of nature, and the cherished bonds of friendship will forever be remembered. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
