Eric Johnson was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 02, 1958 to the late Bertha Morgan and Bernard Johnson. He peacefully transitioned on September 22, 2025. Eric was educated in the Philadelphia school system graduating from Gratz High School. Eric affectionately known as "Hook" loved his life just as he transitioned in peace, harmony and love.

A North Philly resident for life. Eric started cooking at the young age of 9 years old. He would watch his mom rattle those pots and make magic. one day he told his mom I'm going cook just like you. So in that moment chef Eric was being born.

Eric served as lead chef at many restaurant locations, many of them five star and elegant dining.

Eric heart beat the strongest for his family and the ones he cared about. His love for his cat Sylvia was remarkable. Eric told the worst jokes but everyone always laughed.

Eric will be missed by his life Partner Nada Gates, 3 daughters Tanya, Tamika, Erica 3 sons Antwine, Eric Jr, Desmond 6 grandchildren 2 sisters Elwina and Desiree and a host of nieces and nephews
