Eric Dean Walters, beloved husband, brother, and uncle, passed away on March 14, 2024, in his hometown of Dover, OH. Born on December 14, 1966, in Dover, Eric was the son of Alan and Rosa Walters.
Eric was a man of many interests and hobbies. He enjoyed watching football and could often be found cheering on his favorite teams. In his free time, he loved nothing more than relaxing and catching up on some much-needed sleep. Eric had a passion for food and particularly enjoyed mashed potatoes with sour cream and country fried steak. He also had a love for music, with The Who and Aerosmith being among his favorite bands.
Known for his vast knowledge in various subjects, Eric was always ready to engage in a conversation. However, he often joked about his struggles with spelling and math. Eric found solace in the beach or by the lake, as these were his favorite places in the world. He was also a sci-fi junkie, finding great enjoyment in watching Star Trek and anything related to aliens.
For 30 years, Eric worked as a factory worker, dedicating himself to companies such as Handy & Harmon, Merit, Epic, and Meteor Sealings. Sadly, his career was cut short due to illness.
Married to the love of his life, Julie A. Walters, on September 5, 1998, Eric cherished their 25 years together. Although they did not have children of their own, Eric and Julie played an integral role in the lives of their nieces and nephews, considering them as their own kids.
Eric's witty and dry sense of humor often had people laughing, although not everyone could understand his jokes. He will be remembered for his unique personality and the joy he brought to those around him.
Eric is survived by his wife, Julie A. Walters of Dover; his mother-in-law, Matilda (Tillie) J. Breitenstein; his brother, Jeffrey A. Walters; nieces and nephews, Kayla, Rachel, Keri-Jo, Kelsi, Christian, Sarah, and Robert. 2 uncles Robert Walters of Brunswick and Randy Walters of TX. He also leaves 13 great nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alan and Rosa Walters; his brother, Scott Reichman; his father-in-law, James Breitenstein; his brother-in-law, John Pershing; and his great nephew, Darian.
In the words of Eric himself, "Money is no good if you can't enjoy it, and money is only important when you don't have any." He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Family had a small celebration of life cookout in honors of Eric. Special thanks to Eric’s uncle Bob Walters!!
