Emily Rose Songer, known affectionately as Emmy or Emilia Rosa, was born on April 10, 1999, in Glendora, California. Most recently residing in Seattle, Washington, Emily was a bright light in the lives of those who knew her. She was a devoted student who was set to receive her Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology from Arizona State University this coming spring, with a minor in Global Health and a certificate in Evolutionary Medicine.

Emily had an adventurous spirit, nurturing a passion for archaeology and a deep curiosity about the world. She loved playing video games, crocheting, and immersing herself in horror movies. Binge-watching television shows with her family was one of her favorite pastimes, where her quick wit and humor would shine. Emily found great joy in the simple pleasure of listening to the rain while enjoying a good book.

In October 2021, she married Duncan McCaslin, with whom she shared a wonderful bond. Emily is survived by her loving mother, Lisa Martinez, and her sister, Madeleine Wilson, both of whom cherished her deeply.

A lover of music, Emily enjoyed listening to artists such as Aurora, Hozier, and Ed Sheeran, often finding solace in their melodies. Her personality was a blend of intelligence, empathy, and a unique sense of humor, marked by her witty and sometimes sarcastic remarks.
