Elliott Frederick Koeppen, known affectionately as Al, was born on December 6, 1929, in Detroit, Michigan, and passed away on August 27, 2024, in Tucson, Arizona. He lived a vibrant life filled with passions and accomplishments, leaving behind a rich legacy.

Elliott enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including golfing, playing chess, working on puzzles, and visiting the casino. He was particularly fond of playing cards and had a special love for diet Coke and sweets, often taking on the role of dinner chef for himself and his beloved wife, Mildred. They shared a deep bond, dancing together every Friday night for many years.

In his youth, Elliott was an amateur wrestler and maintained a zest for life through his love of dance and entertainment. He was an avid fan of game shows, especially "The Price is Right," "Let's Make a Deal," and "Wheel of Fortune," and enjoyed unwinding with a good western or crime show. One of his favorite indulgences was enjoying a Cheese Crisp at Karichimaka's, always accompanied by his favorite diet Coke.

Elliott took great pride in his more than 60 years of involvement with the Shriners, as well as his participation in the Scottish Rite and the Masons. He was an active Elder at Trinity Presbyterian Church, where he served as a greeter for many years after joining in 2002. His commitment to community service extended to volunteering at the YMCA, where he became a certified personal trainer in his 80s.

Professionally, Elliott dedicated his career to the insurance business, owning his own claims adjusting company, Roadrunner Adjusters, and working as a certified private investigator. He was married three times, with his most enduring relationship being with Mildred for the last 41 years. Elliott is survived by his four children—Kathy, Jeff, and twins Connie and Vickie—as well as five stepchildren through Mildred: Deborah, James, Thomas, Mary, and Paula.

Elliott Frederick Koeppen will be remembered for his warmth, dedication to family, and unwavering commitment to his community. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
