Elizabeth Ortiz

Elizabeth Ortiz, affectionately known as Eliza, passed away on February 22, 2024, at the age of 89. She was born on January 28, 1935, in Loíza Valley, Jardines de Canóvanas, Canóvanas, Puerto Rico, and most recently resided in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Eliza was a retired Registered nurse, dedicating her career to caring for others. Her compassion and commitment to her profession left a lasting impact on those she cared for.

Eliza was the beloved mother of Yesenia Carrasquillo, Lydia Velez, and son Elijah Carrasquillo. She was also a cherished grandmother to Stephanie Luna, M. Giovannie Luna, Elijah Carrasquillo, Jessicaliz Carrasquillo, Jennifer Colon, and Demetri Velez.

Known for her wisdom, humor, and infectious happiness, Eliza brought joy to all those who knew her. She had a generous spirit and was always ready to lend a helping hand.

Eliza was an active member of the United Church of Christ, and her faith played a significant role in her life. She found solace and strength in her Christian beliefs.

In accordance with Eliza's wishes, a private funeral service will be held with only close family members in attendance. She will be laid to rest surrounded by the love of her family.

Elizabeth Ortiz will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her loved ones.
