Edwin Leon Woodson, Jr., 81, passed on Tuesday, April 23, 2024. He was born in Fairmont, WV on November 20, 1942. A son to the late Edwin Leon Woodson and Cornelia E. Harris Woodson. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Boyd-Woodson.

He is survived by his sons, Eric R. Woodson of Fairmont, David E. Woodson, Jacob P. Woodson, Johnathan T. Woodson, and Micah C. Woodson, his grandchildren, Aanalyca M. Woodson, Yvette D. Little, Karina N. Woodson, and Elijah M.

Woodson, along with his god- daughter Natosha Hickman, God-grand-daughter Olivia Hickman, Ginger Black, and Ti! Lavza of Florida Bishop Giss. He is preceded in death by his son, Tyrone K. Woodson, and his grandson, Eric R. Woodson II. Edwin graduated from West Virginia Business College, Fairmont State College, and the NCO Academy. He proudly served his country in the United States Army/West Virginia National Guard for 40 years and was a veteran of both Desert Storm and Desert Shield operations. He was awarded the Bronze Star, and served under the FA 201st Field Artillery Division/Airborne. Following his career in the military, he was employed in the warehouse for Westinghouse Electric/Phillips Lighting. He was an Elder and member Agape Life Ministries. He enjoyed Bowling with his friends.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554. Friends will be received on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 from 9:30a.m. until 11:30a.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday and 11:30a.m. with Pastor LeRoy Riley officiating. Following the funeral, a service of committal will be held at the West Virginia Nation Cemetery in Grafton, WV. at 1p.m. Full military honors will be held in the cemetery with the Marion County Military Veterans Council.
