She sang in a church choir for over 50 years. Later in life, she was a volunteer at Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville. She loved to crochet blankets, afghans, and seasonal decorations for her house and for others. She read her Bible and prayed for her family members daily by calling out each one's name.
