Graduated from San Gabriel High School in 1960, University of California at Riverside in 1964, and earned a Doctorate in Chemistry from the University of Colorado in 1969
Spent his entire career at Austin College in Sherman, Texas as Professor of Chemistry and Vice President of Academic Affairs
Took sabbaticals at Indiana University in 1980 and at the University of North Carolina in 1998
Had a special interest in Environmental Science and climate change, served as Climate Chair for the League of Women Voters of Texas in 2021
Served on the Board of Directors of the Heard Natural Science Museum in McKinney, enjoyed playing golf, fantasy football and baseball, and computer games
Made several trips abroad to Mexico, England, Scotland, Italy, France, Turkey, Peru, Spain, Greece, the Danube River countries, Germany, and the Czech Republic
Survived by his wife, Janet, children Joshua Imhoff and Elizabeth Mabey, brother Bill Imhoff, and seven grandchildren
