He loved Jesus, and He displayed the Fruits of the Spirit: Love, Joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
He Loved the Tennessee Vols and was a season ticket holder for over 60 years. He helped make a large donation to help build Thompson Boling Arena.
He loved St Jude’s Hospital and he didn’t tell anyone about the loving donations he’s given over the years to help them continue to minister to the families in the hardest times of their life. He was such a giver.
He took immense pride in his role as a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his children: Denise Crawhorn of HeisKell, Sherry Whitaker of Halls, Tammey Seeber of HeisKell, and Kyle Otis Rutherford Jr. and his wife Elaine of Halls.
His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Greg Seeber and wife Shae of Knoxville; Lisa Williford and husband Mark of Sevierville; Jelena Williford and husband Michael of Seymour; Jessica Jackson and husband Nathan of HeisKell; Christina Crawhorn of HeisKell; Catherine Jones and husband Parker of Andersonville, as well as his great-grandchildren: Andrew, Emily, Ashlyn, Kobe, Alyssa, Brennan, Brylee Williford; Colson, Chloe, and Colin Seeber; Harper Jean Jones, and great-great-granddaughter Olivia Williford.

He was the first doctor in Seymour, Tennessee. He also made house calls. He helped form the Knoxville radiology group who was Comprised of 10 doctors that serve the entire county and Knox County regions. He was the chief radiologist at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville Tennessee, and remained there until his retirement. He loves the Tennessee vols and has been a basketball season-ticket holder for over 60 years. He gave a generous donation to help build the Thompson boling arena.

Dr. Kyle Otis Rutherford, M.D., was born on April 25, 1926, in Andersonville, TN. A devoted family man and an esteemed physician, he spent his life serving the community and embracing the joys of family and nature. Most recently residing in Halls Crossroads, TN, Dr. Rutherford was the first doctor in Seymour, TN, known for his compassionate house visits and tireless dedication to his patients.
Dr. Rutherford's significant contributions to the medical field include serving as the physician at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) and helping establish the Knoxville Radiology Group, which provided essential services to Cocke and Knox County. He proudly held the position of Chief Radiologist at Parkwest Hospital in Knoxville, where he impacted countless lives through his expertise and care.
Outside of his professional achievements, Dr. Rutherford was a lover of life’s simple pleasures. He cherished fishing on Norris Lake, traveling, and painting. A devoted fan of the Tennessee Volunteers, he enjoyed cheering on his team and was an avid follower of basketball and football. He also had a sweet tooth and had a particular fondness for seafood, which he enjoyed during family gatherings.
Married to his beloved wife, Ramona Loraine Rutherford, for 64 wonderful years, Dr. Rutherford adored her and considered her the love of his life. He took immense pride in his role as a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his children: Denise Crawhorn of HeisKell, Sherry Whitaker of Halls, Tammey Seeber of HeisKell, and Kyle Otis Rutherford Jr. and his wife Elaine of Halls.
