Dorothy Mae Davis, a beacon of light and a precious jewel, departed her loving family on Tuesday , April 24 , 2023 at 97 years of age. She was called "Dot" by her family and friends. Dorothy was born in Chowan County, North Carolina on August 9, 1925 to Evelyn Collins and John Jackson. Dorothy cared deeply for her family, neighbors and friends. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was. She is survived by a host of family and friends. Both the viewing and Homegoing service will be held at Nickelson-Cummings F.H. 4304 Victoria Blvd. Hampton, VA. The viewing will be held Friday, April 28th from 5 pm- 7 pm. Homegoing service will be held Saturday, April 29th @ 11 am and Interment will follow at Pleasant Shade Cemetery 520 Shell Road Hampton, Va.
