Dorothy Mae Clarke (nee Pilgrim), born on September 23, 1931, in Freshwater, Newfoundland, passed away on September 2, 2024, in Oakville. Dorothy, affectionately known as GGMA, was a vibrant presence in the lives of her family and friends, celebrated for her wit, cheerful demeanor, and a smile that could light up any room.
A proud graduate of nursing school, Dorothy dedicated her life to caring for others, embodying her life motto, "Try God." She was particularly passionate about her family, which she considered her greatest accomplishment. Dorothy is survived by her loving children, Paulette (Tony), Carol (Robert), Frank (Lynn), and Bill. She is also remembered by her grandchildren, including Paige, as well as the memories of her late son Wayne and Randy.
Dorothy had a few simple pleasures that brought her joy, including roasted marshmallows, coconuts, and traditional meals like Jiggs dinner and cottage roll. She relished a good piece of fat on meat, and was always ready to offer advice and engage in heartfelt conversation.
Her warmth and welcoming spirit left a lasting impact on those who knew her, and her legacy of love and laughter will continue to resonate within her family for years to come. Dorothy will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
