Dorothy Dunston was born on May 28,1951 to the late Henry Perry and Nannie Montague with a special love and support by Lonnie Montague. She departed this life on April 16,2024 at her home.She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, James Earl Carpenter, Henry O. Perry Jr. and her sisters Annie Doris Perry, Mary Hodge, and one living sister Sally Montague (Manchester Ct).

Dorothy lived most of her life in Wake County, and attended DuBois High School of Wake Forest.She worked many years at Lassiter Presort until she retired.

At an early age she joined St. Peter’s Church of Christ, where she remained a faithful member and Usher until her health permitted. She also sung in the Mass choir although she never led a song.

Dorothy was a model of strength, determination, respect, endurance and admiration. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She taught them to pray and taught her children to pay their Tithes and Offerings. She was a jewel to everyone, and always had words of comfort. She will always be remembered for her love she showed towards her family and all whom surrounded her.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories:her husband Connie Ray Dunston, son, Corey Carpenter, daughter, Tabatha C. Carpenter, 4 grandchildren, Darius Lamar Carpenter, Shondale Harris, Shawnice Harris, Cameron Lee Douglas. 3 great grandchildren, Madison Carpenter, Jordan Crain, and Kori Carpenter. Nephews, Robert Perry(Deborah) and Hal Perry. Nieces, Paula Randolph and Vicky Perry, a host of great nieces nephews and cousins. Also 2 special friends Josephine Massenburg and Francis Turner.
