Obituary

Doris (Gran) Dalton was more than just a mother and grandmother, she was a loyal and loving friend who loved God and trusted him with all her worry’s. Gran enjoyed feeding “the guys” after putting up hay on The Why Worry Farm. She would always keep piling on the food saying “You can eat more!”

Gran considered Shirley Dalton as her own daughter. She enjoyed Sunday dinners and Rook playing with her family. Shirley and Gran would cheat and Paul Stewart would yell! Gran loved her daily phone calls with “Shirt” and being ornery with her. All of Shirley’s family held a special place in Gran’s heart.

Gran enjoyed keeping the house clean for her daughter, Lillian (Frog) while Frog worked. She would talk about her buying stuff and not knowing what she even had. We think Gran cleaned so they could rip and run all day on Frog’s day off.

Gran loved when Sharon made an apartment downstairs because she had a live in nurse attending to her daily eye needs. What Gran loved most about living in the same house was Sharon’s online ordering. Not a box came that Gran didn’t open and then help herself to whatever she wanted. She loved opening boxes!

What Gran loved about Carol (Peeps) was how she’d come and declutter. She’d tell Peeps, “get rid of that, Frog doesn’t even know she has it.” Peeps would toss it and take the blame. Gran enjoyed going with Peeps every Monday to take Rowan home because she knew we’d stop at the Dari-Delite for one of Johnny Nut’s hotdogs and ice cream.

Zack was Gran’s 1st great grandchild. Gran and Pappy enjoyed Zack so much and had him spoiled rotten. Pappy would have Zack cussing and Gran waited on him hand and foot. Gran loved when she got to see Huntleigh who was her 1st great great grandchild. She enjoyed Kayla’s homemade chicken Alfredo.

Gran loved going to her granddaughter Tiffany’s house because Tiffany’s husband, Dave, treated her like a queen, plus she got to spend time with her great great granddaughter, Rowan. Gran was excited to meet their new little boy coming January 2023. Rowan spent the last week at Gran’s side, kissing her nonstop and telling her “I love you Granny”. Gran loved every second of us staying with her around the clock.

Kristen and Gran had an ornery relationship. They’d give each other the finger behind Mom’s back, of course. Kristen would “thug” Gran all out like Tupac. Kristen loved getting Gran in trouble with Mom. They had such a special bond.

Gran also enjoyed her bonus great grandchildren Jason Hart (Rachel), Jabin (Ashley) Hart, Steven Walker (Maddie) and Susie McMillen. She loved and enjoyed watching her bonus great great grandchildren Taylor, Colton, Grayson and Laykin grow up. Each brought joy to her. Taylor helped nurse Gran the last week and constantly checked on her. She loved all as her own and considered herself blessed for having them in the family.

Gran had so many loved ones at her side during her last earthly days, showing support to her and her family. She was beyond grateful for you all.
