Doreen Hawthorne, a vibrant, strong, and smart woman, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2025. Born on October 21, 1938 to the late Michael J Campbell and Florence Ratcliffe in Liverpool England, Doreen spent her life LIVING!
Her illustrious career as a realtor spanned over three decades, during which she took pride in empowering first-time homeowners. Doreen’s legacy of kindness, generosity, and love is a shining example for us all, and her passion for dominos and spades was legendary (she was a trash talker) her energy brought joy and laughter to many family gatherings. She loved traveling some of her favorite moments and memories was loading their RV and taking extended road trips especially with her grandkids. She loved her grand and great grand kids more than anything. She was wowed by a good English tea and she loved her spirits.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Victor J Campbell, Georgie Ellis, sisters, Florence Campbell, Kathleen Campbell, Pamela Ellis, Doreen is survived by her husband of 57 years, John Hawthorne, Brother Brian Campbell, children Gary (Tanoa) Hawthorne Sr. Shon Hawthorne, (Step son) John Considine, Brothers in law Henry (Lynn) Hawthorne, Phil (Betty) Wallace, Sisters in law Shirley Mitchelle and Dorothy Harper, grandchildren, Aprill Hawthorne, Gary (Tarika) Hawthorne Jr, David Carter, Davon Hawthorne, Timothy Hawthorne, Tiffany Hawthorne, Deshawn Harding, Antia Harding, Ashley Considine, Leon Considine, John Joseph Considine, and Jaxson Considine. 17 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who she made family over the years.
The loss of Doreen Hawthorne will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a legacy of courage and love, reminding us all to stand strong in our beliefs and to always extend kindness and generosity to others.
