Dora Bargas, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2024, at the age of 87. She was born on June 28, 1936, in Walsenburg, CO, and most recently resided in Denver, CO.
Dora had a zest for life and enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including gardening, cooking, and originally playing pool. She had a particular fondness for tostadas and loved listening to Fats Domino. Dora was always curious about her family name and heritage, constantly seeking to learn more about its origin.
There was nothing Dora cherished more than spending time with her family. She loved bragging about her thirteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Dora had a knack for irritating her husband, Donald, but it was all in good fun. They recently celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary.
Dora's favorite place in the world was her home, where she found comfort and joy. She enjoyed watching game shows, especially Jeopardy, and had a passion for tennis, particularly following the careers of Rafi and Carlos Alvarez.
Throughout her life, Dora worked as a bartender, connecting with people and always wearing a smile on her face. Her infectious personality made everyone feel comfortable in her presence, and she never hesitated to speak her mind, whether it was what people wanted to hear or needed to hear.
Dora's impact on the lives of others was immeasurable. She had a way of making people feel loved and valued, and her social nature attracted countless friends. Her faith in God remained unwavering, and she looked forward to reuniting with her loved ones in Heaven.
Dora Bargas will be deeply missed by her husband, Donald Bargas, her daughter, Terri, her sons, Don Jr and Steve, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchild, and everyone's favorite Tia. Her memory will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. As she would often say, "I love you to the moon and back" and "Way to go Maynard."
Come Celebrate the life of Dora, we will provide some food but please feel free to also bring your favorite dish, side or dessert for others to enjoy as we live, laugh and cry over memories of Dora. Please add/tag any photos to her Facebook account or send them to her grandson Chuck Carrera so he may add them to a slide show for everyone to enjoy.
