Donald Gordon Thompson, lovingly known as "Big Daddy" or Don, passed away on March 15, 2024, at the age of 59. He was born on April 17, 1964, in Detroit, MI, and most recently resided in Flat Rock, MI.

Donald had a zest for life and a deep passion for his favorite hobbies. He found solace and joy in painting pictures, playing the guitar, and capturing moments through photography. His love for music was evident, with Jimmy Hendrix being one of his favorite artists.

Nothing brought Donald more happiness than his children. He cherished his role as a father and was immensely proud of his kids, Samantha, Donald, Katie, and Kyle. In addition, he adored his three grandchildren, Dakotah, Luna, and Maverick.

Donald had a special connection to certain places. He found tranquility and cherished memories in Myrtle Beach, SC, and the scenic Smoky Mountains of TN. These were his favorite vacation destinations.

As a sports enthusiast, Donald was a dedicated fan of the Boston Bruins, passionately following their hockey games.

Professionally, Donald worked as a truck driver, showcasing his strong work ethic and dedication to his responsibilities.

Donald's life was touched by love. He was previously married to Kim Thompson and had a cherished relationship with his girlfriend, Tammy Sands.

He is survived by his sister, Faith Devor, and his brother, Glenn Thompson. Donald will be forever remembered and missed by his children, Donald, Katie, and Kyle, as well as his grandchildren.

In his essence, Donald was a free spirit who lived life to the fullest. His love for travel, music, art, and photography was infectious, leaving lasting impressions on those fortunate enough to have known him.

Donald has now been reunited with his father, Bobbie Thompson, his mother, Loretta Thompson, and his brother, Bobbie Thompson Jr., who preceded him in death.

May he rest in peace, forever remembered for his vibrant spirit and zest for life.
