Obituary

Don Hadley, 69, of Newburgh, Indiana, passed away on April 26, 2025. A devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Don’s life was marked by deep faith, unwavering love for his family, and a joyful appreciation for the simple pleasures of life.

Born on October 19, 1955, Don built a life rooted in hard work and strong relationships. He dedicated 44 years of service to Alcoa before retiring on January 1, 2021. During his time there, he formed countless friendships—many of which became like family to him.

Don was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 41 years, Debbie Hadley; their infant son Jason; his parents James (Jay) and Helen Hadley; and his niece Melinda Hadley. Though he experienced profound loss throughout his life, Don remained a pillar of strength and love for those around him.

He is survived by his wife Tamrin; daughters Jennifer Vinson (Spencer), Jodie Crowley (Charles), and Beth Hadley (fiancé Chris); sons Brent Hadley (Trish), Brian Hadley, and adopted son Isaiah. He also leaves behind two brothers, Mark Hadley (Nikki) and Kerry Hadley; grandchildren Jenna, Sara, Eli, Mallory, Madelyn, AJ, Grant, and Keaton; as well as several nieces and nephews who were dear to him.

Don found immense joy in the outdoors. Whether fishing at the lake, planting flowers in the yard, or riding around on his mower with a grandchild in tow, he cherished every moment spent under the open sky. His morning routine often included a stop at Donut Bank for coffee and a blueberry donut with friends, a tradition that brought him great happiness.

He especially treasured time with his children and grandchildren. Their accomplishments filled him with pride so great he would often say with a smile: “I’m so proud, my shirt buttons could pop.” His love for them was boundless and evident in every word and action.

Don also shared a deep bond with Debbie through their many trips to Gatlinburg. The mountains held special memories for them—quiet walks among the trees and peaceful moments together that became cherished chapters in their story.

A man of steadfast faith, Don loved Jesus deeply and never hesitated to share the gospel with those around him. He attended Peace Fellowship Baptist Church in Newburgh often. His favorite scripture was John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” This verse reflected not only his beliefs but also how he lived—with generosity of spirit and an open heart.

May dad’s memory bring comfort to all who knew him and may we carry forward the joy he found in everyday moments.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 9, 2025, from 05:00 PM to 05:30 PM at Maple Grove Cemetery 1622 S 3rd st. We would love for family and friends to join us in celebrating dad’s life.
