Derrick was a skilled mechanic, dedicating his career to fixing and maintaining various vehicles. He took great pride in his work and achieved a successful career in the industry.

He leaves behind his daughters, Joretta Howard, Porsha Howard, and Shavonia Howard, as well as six beloved grandchildren: Eric Blake Jr. (15), EMauri Blake (11), Dai'Ceyon Howard (10), Jaytavis Garrett Jr. (7), Brelynn Thomas (2), and Jream Garrett (6 months).

Derrick is survived by his mother, Lucille Conley, and his father, Peter Conley, along with other close family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
