Remembering Dennis

I am very sad to share, my sweetheart, my “Hon,” Dennis went to be with Jesus on October 5. 

He bravely battled cancer with great optimism and strong faith. Thankfully, he is now at peace enjoying his eternal life. I am grateful he had many years of good health and we had a beautiful life together filled with love and laughter.

Fierce Friend

Dennis was the love of my life and my best friend. And I was always amazed how he fostered many loyal and long-term friendships with others and truly “never met a stranger.” I know he will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Great Father

I know Dennis considered being Carly and Liam’s Dad his greatest accomplishment.  He loved them so well…very supportive and caring…full of fun…always the “Proud Papa.”

Dennis welcomed Carly’s husband, Alec, into the family with open arms.

Along with Carly and Liam, he helped raise Rhett, his bonus son, who is married to Jay.

He also loved my kids, Max, and his wife, Dana and Nick, unconditionally and we were able to make great family memories during our marriage.  His latest role as “GPA” to our precious grandaughter, Morgan Hope, filled him with pure joy.

Faithful Follower

Dennis was a great man of faith and shared his love of the Lord with everyone he met.  He devoted his time to Kid’s Ministry at Northridge Church in Michigan, pouring God’s love into many young hearts over the years.  Our higher calling as a couple was to lead Marriage Groups.  It was very rewarding for us to help couples grow closer to God and each other.  During our last days together we discussed what we were looking forward to in the future.  I told him I wanted to keep his memory alive by loving our beautiful blended family that will hopefully include more grandkids. 

He said he was looking forward to “following Jesus around in heaven.”

I told Dennis…since I’ve known him, he’s been doing that every day of his life.
