Enlisted in the US Army after completing ROTC, served in the Vietnam War, and rose to the rank of First Lieutenant
Spent 12 years in private and public accounting before dedicating 29 years to Connecticut Hospice in Branford, CT, where he retired as their CFO
Survived by his wife Sharon, sons Joseph and Barzeli, eight grandchildren, and sister Zelda Polman. Predeceased by his brother Hyman and sister-in-law Elise Goldfarb
Volunteered at St. Francis Hospital as a patient care advocate, at the Young Israel of West Hartford in various roles including serving on the board of directors, and at the Hebrew Academy of Greater Hartford (New England Jewish Academy) on the financial aid committee
Received the H. Zachs Spirit of Judaism Award in 2018
Actively involved in the Young Israel of West Hartford, serving as gabbai (ritual coordinator) for decades, known for reciting and helping others say the Kaddish memorial prayer
