David R. Barnes, 71, of Greensburg, went to be in the arms of Jesus on Saturday, September 21, 2024, in UPMC Shadyside. He was born Dec. 9, 1952, in Tampa, Fla., the late son of Ralph Barnes and his wife, Sandra, of Morristown, Tenn., and the late Dorothy Barnes of Pittsfield, Ma. Prior to his disability, he had worked in the health care industry. He was a member of Word of Life Ministries, Greensburg, and was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife, Debra L. (Friend) Barnes; a daughter, Jennifer Tost, of Indiana, and her husband, Paul Tost; a son, Christopher Zumwalt and his wife, Becky, of Dallas, Texas; four grandchildren, Travis, Daniel, Jordan and Anne; a brother, Paul Barnes and his wife, Judy, of Seattle, Wash.; and a sister, Darlene Moneypenny and her husband, Patrick, of Moorpark, Calif. Viewing is for immediate family only from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton at Green street, Greensburg. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Interment will be private.
