David Mickens, affectionately known as D-Love, passed away on February 22, 2024, at the age of 59. He was born on July 7, 1964, in Lamar, South Carolina, and had resided in Lamar throughout his life.

David's favorite hobby was making people laugh, and he had a natural talent for bringing smiles to the faces of those around him. He took great pride in his children, Maurice, Stephanie, and Avion, considering them to be his proudest accomplishments. David's dedication and love for his family shone through as he reunited with his children later in life.

Known as D-Love to his loved ones, David was married to Monk and leaves behind his spouse, who shared in his life's joys and challenges. He also leaves behind his children, Maurice, Stephanie(Jeremiah&Kiara) and Avion. David is survived by his brothers and sisters, Pete, Lonell, Georgia, Sap, and Louise, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other family members.

David will be remembered for his infectious sense of humor, always ready to lend a helping hand, and his incredible dancing skills. He cherished his family dearly and always wanted the best for everyone.

In the hearts of those who knew him, David Mickens will forever remain a source of laughter, love, and cherished memories. May he rest in peace.
