David Leonard Niss, affectionately known as Davey (Donkey), passed away on August 12, 2024, at the age of 56. Born on December 3, 1967, in Fairmont, MN, David spent his final years in Ontario, OH, surrounded by the love of his family.
David was the proud husband of Dana Niss, with whom he shared 34 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they raised four children: Riley Kelly (Zack), Jayde Niss, Griffin Niss, and Londyn Niss (Logan), all of whom brought him immense pride. David was also a devoted grandfather to six grandchildren: Piper, Payton, Tatum, Bexley, Preslynn, and Leo, who were the light of his life.
As the Director of Process Engineering at CNG, David was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his profession. He had a contagious laugh and a charismatic personality that made an impact on everyone he met. Known for his willingness to lend a helping hand, he touched the lives of many in his community.
David cherished moments spent with his family, particularly Sunday dinners, where laughter and love filled the table. He enjoyed fishing at Lake Erie, a pastime that brought him peace and joy. His favorite saying, "I love you more," reflected the depth of his affection for those around him.
David is survived by his mother, Judy Niss; siblings Linda Cook (Werk), Calvin Niss (Sherri), and Daniel Niss (Brenda); as well as his father and mother-in-law, LeRoy and Patricia Graphenteen; sister-in-law Kelli Michels (Todd); brother-in-law Blain Graphenteen (Sheri); and many beloved nieces and nephews.
David Leonard Niss will be remembered for his love, laughter, and the indelible mark he left on the hearts of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed.
