David Howard Whiteman, born on January 15, 1944, in Buffalo, NY, passed away on January 6, 2025, in Charlotte, NC. David served in the US Army and was deployed to Vietnam in 1967 where he served with distinction earning a Bronze Medal for Valor in Combat. David dedicated his career to the automotive transport industry, spending over 20 years as Controller and Vice President at Delavan Industries, a division of Ryder, Inc. followed by twenty years in Sales at Cottrell, Inc.
David is remembered not only for his professional achievements but also for his vibrant personality. He was a man with a great sense of humor, charming and charismatic, who brought joy to those around him. He was deeply involved in his community, serving in his church, volunteering with the Loaves and Fishes organization, where he made a positive impact on many lives.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen, and their two children, Amy Rose and David R. Whiteman (Jacqui Williams). David also cherished his role as a grandfather to Gabriella Brown (Austin), R. Hunter Rose, Cooper Rose, and Nora Whiteman, as well as a great-grandfather to Blakely and Bo Brown. He leaves behind his siblings, Edward Whiteman, Katherine Iorio, and Wendy Whiteman.
David Howard Whiteman will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
