David D "Buck" Cale, devoted husband and father and lifelong coal miner, passed away on July 31, 2024, at the age of 66. He was born on April 1, 1958, in Lexington, KY, and most recently resided in Gallipolis Ferry, WV.
Buck's proudest accomplishment and his pride and joy was his daughter, Jessica Nicole Reynolds. He beamed with pride when speaking of her and her many accomplishments . He also cherished his role as a grandfather to Bryson and Victoria. Buck was also proceeded in death by his parents, Dorothy Ann(Arrington) Cale and Malcolm "Bucky" Cale. In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by a brother Malcolm "Skip" Cale II He was married to his loving wife, Marcia Roller Cale, for 44 years. Together, they created a beautiful blended family, including their daughter Jessica Nicole Reynolds( fiance Shawn Reed) of Middleport, OH and her daughter Jennifer Brenner, and husband Austin Brenner, and grandchildren Bryson and Victoria, all of Lancaster, OH. He is also survived by his brothers, Kent (Amanda) Arrington and Joey (Connie) Arrington, all of Point Pleasant, WV. In addition to the above, he is survived by his best friend and partner in crime, his dog Buddy and his grand dogs, Bailey and Bear. He is also survived by a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Known for his sense of humor, Buck was often referred to as the joker and class clown. His infectious laughter and kind-hearted nature made a lasting impact on those around him. He will be remembered as a loving and gentle soul.
Buck's funeral will be held in Sandy Hook, KY, the town where he grew up in and referred to as "down home" on July 5, 2024. Friends and family May call 4 hours prior to the service at Whitt & Sons Funeral Home, Sandy Hook, KY. May his soul rest in eternal peace. He will be missed greatly here on earth by all his family and friends.
