David C. Warren Jr., affectionately known as “Junie,” was born on September 1, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late David Warren Sr. and Zelastine Erwin. He lived a life defined by service, dedication, and an unwavering love for his family.
David was a proud graduate of Osborne High School, where he distinguished himself as a standout athlete in both football and basketball. His competitive spirit, discipline, and teamwork on the field were early reflections of the values he carried throughout his life.
Following high school, Junie honorably served his country in the United States Army, completing two tours in Vietnam. After his military service, he began a long and dedicated professional career at Ford Motor Company, working at the Utica Plant, where he was known for his strong work ethic and reliability. He retired from the Utica Trim Plant 1999.
Family was the cornerstone of Junie’s life. He was deeply committed to supporting and uplifting his loved ones and was always present when a family member was in need. He is survived by his four children: David Warren III, Nikisha Norton, April Peterson, and DaJuan Warren. He also leaves behind 15 cherished grandchildren, each of whom brought him great pride and joy.
Junie was one of ten siblings and is lovingly remembered by: Adriane Clark, Meryl Ross, Amatullah Muhammad, Lisa Warren, Marcus Warren, Kevin Warren, James Warren, Alice Harris, Caroline Wiggins, and Leonard Harris.
Outside of work and family, David had a true passion for the outdoors. He was an avid hunter who especially enjoyed wild game, a hobby that reflected his appreciation for nature and tradition. It was a normal thing to show up and he’s cooking: rabbit, raccoon, lamb, or even squirrel.
David C. Warren Jr. lived with integrity, generosity, and heart. His legacy is one of strength, service, and devotion to family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to know him. Junie was cremated at Duzak Funeral and Cremation Center, Inc. The family plans to host a memorial at a later date.
