David was born to David L. Barnett and Ann M. Barnett. He was one of six brothers he was proceeded in death by brothers Leon Howard, Willard Barnett, Brett Barnett and Wendell Barnett and daughter Tysan Gray.
He married Kay F. Johnson and help raised 6 kids.
He leaves to cherish his memory to children, Derrick Johnson, Kendra Johnson, Demicheal Gray, Sharif (Shana) Byrd, and Kevin Farr. Special Grandson Sammie JR Goddard II, he also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
He graduated from East High School
