Today we are grieving, loving, and missing our dear brother Darryl Prophet. He was a cousin, uncle, nephew, and friend to many.
Psalm73:26"My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. "
On August 17, 2023, Darryl gathered his wings and ascended to his heavenly home where he is joined and embraced by those whom proceeded him in death: his wife:Mrs. Mary Prophet; his mother:Mrs. Betty Evans-Prophet; his father:Wilbon Prophet(Betty Sampson-Prophet);his grandparents:Mr&Mrs Eddie Evans,Mr&Mrs. Wilbon Prophet Sr., and Mr.&Mrs. Prescott Sampson.Darryl is survived by his sisters: Mrs. Cynthia Prophet-Murray and Mrs. Zanthya Prophet-Gibson; three aunts: Mrs. Gloria Evans-Ford, Mrs. Joyce Evans, Mrs. Doris Foy; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Darryl graduated from Valdosta High School and, upon completion, he entered the United States Army. He served twelve honorable years before returning to Valdosta to help manage the family businesses. He worked alongside his father for many, successful, years and later moved into the roofing industry. Darryl's roofing expertise allowed him to aid many people in the community who would have, otherwise, been unable to afford to repair their homes. Darryl maintained 20 plus years in the roofing industry, however, due to illness he retired in his early 60's. Darryl will be missed for his unyielding love, kindness, humor, and wit. Our prayer is that he will find peace in his final resting place.
