Darren "Double D" Duncan, 61, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away on July 18, 2026. Born on July 16, 1965, in Ark City, Kansas, Darren lived a life filled with adventure, love, and dedication to his family and passions.
A graduate of Ark City High School, Darren pursued higher education at Cowley County Community College, earning an Associate’s degree in Business. His education reflected his lifelong curiosity and thirst for knowledge. Darren was known for his ability to inspire and teach others, leaving a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to learn from him.
Darren shared 26 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Susan Duncan. Together they built a life rich in love and cherished memories. He was a proud father to Christina Lange, Ashley Johnson, Omar Duncan, and David Duncan. Darren also leaves behind his brother Donnie Lister and numerous grandchildren who brought great joy to his life. He was predeceased by his parents, Edna and Joseph Duncan.
An avid outdoorsman, Darren found happiness in nature—hunting deer on his land, fishing in serene ponds, mudding through rugged trails, or horseback riding under open skies. His adventurous spirit extended to gaming as well, showcasing his playful nature and sharp mind.
Darren's generosity and kindness were boundless. He delighted in teaching children how to ride horses, patiently sharing his knowledge while fostering confidence in young riders. His legacy as a compassionate mentor will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 5, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Double D’s Ranch (777 Highway 1 Coldwater, KS 67029). Family will gather beforehand to share memories over lunch before spreading Darren’s ashes. All are welcome to attend.
May Darren’s memory bring comfort and inspiration to all who knew him.
Come join us we will be welcoming everyone starting at 12pm for lunch and memories! Then we will spread ashes afterwards at 2pm!
