It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Dad, Danny Michael Narath, he passed away on April 27, 2024, in Apple Valley, California, while on a road trip visiting his family.
Danny was born on July 14, 1948 in Fullerton, California to Ruth and Dean Narath. He grew up in Anaheim, California where he worked on a chicken farm before enlisting in the Navy.
He found the love of his life with that of his high school sweetheart and wife of 51 years, Patricia (Patty), who preceded him in death on November 29, 2020. They shared a love story that began in Tokyo, Japan, where they exchanged vows on December 17, 1969, during Danny's service in the United States Navy.
Dan, as he was known to many, dedicated himself to the United States Navy where he served aboard the USS Waddell and the USS Berkeley, a period of his life marked by honor and courage. He received numerous awards and commendations for his exemplary service, including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Navy Expeditionary Medal (Korea), Combat Action Ribbon, among others.
Transitioning to civilian life, Danny continued his commitment to service as a Federal employee with the Department of the Navy where he was an Electrician and a Production Supervisor until his retirement in 2004 after 30-years of dedicated service.
Beyond his professional achievements, Danny found happiness in the simple things. His love for family gatherings in Southern California, annual RV and camping trips, waterskiing on Lake Havasu, white-water rafting trips, playing blackjack in Reno, or just simply playing cards with family or mowing the grass on his riding lawn mower.
Danny is lovingly remembered by his three daughters: Lisa (and Gary) Rogers of Madison, Alabama; Hollie Narath, Amy (and Willie) Sutton, and his granddaughter, Hailee Rose Sutton, all residing in Olalla, Washington. He is also survived by his sister, Sharon Epperson of Nipomo, California, and his brother, Dennis (and Lori) Narath of Buena Park, California. Additionally, he leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will forever treasure his memory.
In honoring the memory of Danny "Dan" Michael Narath, we celebrate a life lived with dignity, pride, and unwavering love. He will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A memorial service to honor Danny's life will be announced at a later date, allowing us to gather and pay tribute to our beloved father, grandfather and brother
.
We'll plant real trees for you in Danny's memory and display your contribution forever.
