Danny McDowell, was born on December 14,1957, in Compton, CA . Danny was the 6th child born to DeWitt McDowell and Jessie McDowell (who preceded him in death) He was known as the “Baby Boy “ Danny is also preceded in death by his brothers ( Richard McDowell, Mitchell McDowell, and Larry McDowell ) Danny passed away on March 12, 2024 in Hemet,CA , where he had been residing in recent years.

Danny attended elementary, junior high, and high school in the Compton Unified Schools District. He developed a passion for caring for the elderly and decided to pursue a career in health care. Danny worked as a direct care assistant at a skilled nursing facility in the city of Long Beach,CA. for a few years before becoming his own boss!

Danny had a passion for building things and was known for his skill in craftsmanship. He enjoyed working with his hands and took pride in his creations. His favorite hobby was fishing and cooking out on the grill! His ultimate goal was to purchase a boat and enjoy life on the waterfront. Danny’s creative side always kept him looking for new projects to tackle.

When it came to leisure, Danny had a refined taste for oysters, savoring their unique flavors whenever he had the chance. He also had a deep appreciation for music, particularly enjoying the sounds of the Spinners and the Stylistics.
Not only was Danny handsome ,he was cool and he loved to stay fly. His mother Jessie was a seamstress and would make his clothes. That’s what they called “taylor made “ meaning it was made to fit you. Danny had one of the cleanest Cadillacs you’d ever seen! Inside and outside. Money green, trimmed in gold with the white wall tires and spoke rims! His car brought him endless delight.

Above all, Danny cherished his family. His adoration for his beloved children was incomparable. Danny held a special place in his heart for his children. If you messed with his children you definitely were going to have a problem….and like his grandson Christopher would say “Facts “ His children brought him immense joy and happiness!

In the early 70’s. Danny married his junior high school sweetheart Lynette Williams and to this union 2 children were born, Jason A.McDowell and Janae A.McDowell. Later in life Danny remarried Aretha and to this union 3 children were born, Johnathan McDowell, Trendella McDowell, and Dafina McDowell.

Danny leaves to cherish his memory is his wife Aretha McDowell, sons ( Jason McDowell, Boston,MA ,Jonathan McDowell, Hemet,CA., daughters ( Janae McDowell, Boston,MA., Trendella and Dafina McDowell, Los Angeles CA., 12 grandchildren, one and only sister Beverly Nelson(Gregory), brother Johnny McDowell ( Wilma) , and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Danny McDowell will be remembered for his strength, business acumen, and dedication to his loved ones. As his presence is deeply missed, his memory will forever hold a cherished place in the hearts of those who knew him.
