Dan graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, Virginia Radford University with a BS and continued on at University of Alaska. His kindness and love were evident in everything he did. Loved spending time with family and friends.

Daniel Darrow Aschenbrenner, beloved husband, brother, and friend, passed away on December 21, 2023, at the age of 64 in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Born on September 23, 1959, in Grants Pass, Oregon, Dan was a gentle giant whose kindness and love touched everyone he encountered.
Dan graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Virginia and earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Radford University before continuing his education at the University of Alaska. He dedicated his career to being a respected and accomplished Special Education teacher, making a significant impact on the lives of many students.
In his free time, Dan found joy in numerous hobbies. He loved fishing in Prince William Sound, where he cherished time spent on his boat and at his cabin. An avid musician, he played his guitar for hours, expressing his passion for music. Above all, he treasured moments with family and friends, nurturing relationships that brought him great happiness.
Dan is survived by his loving wife, Sandy Logan Aschenbrenner, and his stepsons Ray (Monica) Chavez, Carl (Anjelica) Chavez, and Randy (Tracy) Chavez. He was a proud grandfather to Samantha, Brandon, Isabella, Kimberly, and Marissa Chavez, as well as Lloyd and Adrianna Aragon. He is also survived by his siblings, Ted (Caroline) Aschenbrenner, John (Mimi) Aschenbrenner, and Constance Aschenbrenner.
His warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for those around him will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him. Dan's legacy as a gentle giant and devoted family man will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have been part of his life.
