Curtis "Tumbo" Lawrence, affectionately known as DJ Tumbo, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025, at the age of 36 in New Orleans, Louisiana. A lifelong resident of New Orleans, he was known & loved by many.
He is survived by his mother, Colette Pryor; his daughter, Cione Lawrence; and his companion, Latasha Johnson. He also leaves behind his sisters, Ronnisha Pryor, Jaidyn Campbell, Quwanda Washington, and Nekia Robertson; his brothers, Thomas Martin, Terry Gaines Jr., Kentron Lawrence, Jamar Campbell, Layman and Lamar Briscoe& A host of stepchildren . Curtis was preceded in death by Patrick Campbell,
Gloria Gills (Grandmother), Solomon Gills (Grandfather). Additionally, he is remembered a host of nieces, nephews, friends & family.
He was employed at Jav Levels Up and Tigs Bar.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at St. Matthews Baptist Church and Cemetery, located at 11009 Hwy 33 South in Garden City, Mississippi, at 2:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will take place on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Hollywood Sports Bar at 6:00 p.m.
