Connie Louise Vance, affectionately known as "Shug," passed away on December 23, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and warmth. Born on May 22, 1947, to Billie Lou Berringer and Sandford Nutall Sr. in Bryan, Texas, Shug lived a vibrant life guided by her unwavering faith and personal relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Connie was first married to Raymond Swain and 5 Children were born to this Union.
Shug had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel special. Her love for life was evident in her joy for cooking, fishing, and caring for her cherished pets. Her home was a sanctuary of laughter and love, where she shared countless memories with her children, grandchildren, and friends.
She is survived by her sister Cecile'Ann"Nutall of Bryan; her brothers Terry Berringer of Bryan and Sanford Nutall Jr. of Dallas; her children Shonsey Swain-Williams of Fort Worth; Keisha Tyler -Logan of Dallas; Valarie Davis of Killeen; Cory Swain of Denver; Anthony Swain of Snook; and her Son/Grandson Brandon Swain-Stewart Jr. of Temple. Shug was blessed with 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Her Step Children also, Ryan Vance of Dallas; daughter, Quiana Vance
She was preceded in death by her parents, Billie Lou Berringer and Sandford Nutall Sr., as well as her beloved son, Brandon J. Swain Sr. Geronimo Swain.And her adoring husband Ricky Vance.
Shug’s family invites all who knew her to celebrate her life by remembering the love, laughter, and generosity she shared so freely. As she often said, "I came into this world feet first," a testament to the bold and joyful way she lived her life.
Rest in peace, Shug. Your love will be deeply missed, but your memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know you.
