Cody Efroymson, born on May 23, 2010, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on December 12, 2024, in Santa Fe, NM. Cody was a unique spirit who brought a certain charm to those around him, despite his challenges. Known for his quirky sense of humor, he often entertained friends with his ability to contort his fingers in strangely amusing ways.
Cody was passionate about art, particularly drawing, which allowed him to express himself creatively. He had a fondness for Korean cuisine, his mother’s pesto, and Thai chicken. Music was another cherished aspect of his life, with a playlist that included K-pop, Eminem, and eclectic French indie pop.
A fan of popular television shows like "Squid Game," "Stranger Things," and "The Office," Cody found joy in storytelling through various mediums. He had a brief stint in middle school soccer and expressed an interest in jiu-jitsu, but life took him in different directions. Despite not graduating from Santa Fe High, Cody's spirit remained resilient.
Cody is remembered for his walks with his beloved dog, Buddy, and his love for coffee. He dreamed of traveling to places like Greece, France, and Japan, though he never had the chance to realize those dreams. He is survived by his parents and his brother Clarence, who he wished he could have outlived.
While Cody often felt he had few accomplishments to be proud of, he once managed to chew an entire pack of gum at once, a feat he considered noteworthy. His outlook on life was captured in his motto, “We all die eventually, I guess.” His unique personality, marked by a blend of humor and idiosyncrasies, left an indelible mark on those who knew him. Cody will be remembered as the “ugliest duckling,” a term he might have embraced, and his presence will be missed by family and friends alike.
We'll plant real trees for you in Cody's memory and display your contribution forever.
