Clarity Joanne Price, born February 19th, 2003 in Portland, Oregon, passed away on October 10th, 2023, at the age of 20. She left this world far too soon but not without leaving a deep and undeniable imprint on everyone lucky enough to love her.
Clarity grew up in Portland and continued to call it home throughout her life. She was the kind of person who made quiet spaces feel full — sketching in the corners of cafés, journaling on her bedroom floor, or laughing with friends until her face lit up pink. She loved to draw, read, write, and, as everyone teased her lovingly for, spend far too much time on her phone. Creativity wasn’t a hobby for Clarity; it was the way she breathed.
Music followed her everywhere. Her favorite bands — Mindless Self Indulgence, Sodikken, and Mother Mother — became the soundtrack to her walks, her art, and her late-night thoughts. She had a habit of finding meaning in lyrics no one else noticed. That was who she was: someone who caught the details the rest of the world overlooked.
Clarity loved spaghetti, tacos, and chicken alfredo, and no meal was complete without sharing bites with her beloved cat, Persimmon, the companion she cherished more than anything. Her childhood bedroom, filled with old drawings, taped-up posters, and memories tucked into corners, remained her favorite place in the world.
She was endlessly curious, quietly bold, and unintentionally funny. She adored her friends with a fierce, loyal softness and had an uncanny ability to make people feel safe being themselves. Those who knew her will remember her rosy cheeks, her shy-sunshine smile, and the way she could take an ordinary day and make it feel like something worth saving.
Clarity’s life was short, but it was textured, sincere, and full of meaning. She will be remembered for her art, her laughter, her kindness, and the irreplaceable light she carried with her.
She is loved. She is missed. She is remembered.
