Clarence Lewis Jefferson Family Patriarch
Clarence Lewis Jefferson was born in New Orlans Louisiana to Ruby and Robert Jefferson on November 12, 1946. He passed away on December 14, 2025at the age of 79 years old. He was the first boy born of 9 children he graduated from McClymond's High School in Oakland California in 1964 at the age of 17 years old. He enlisted in The United States Army soon there after, he was sent to was in Vietnam. His assignment in the army was as a medic being responsible for retrieving the wounded men from front line and getting them safely to the hospital for treatment. According to The Geneva Convention Medics Act medics who wore a red cross on their sleeve indicating that they were a part of the medical team should not be shot at in combat, Clarence was shot at anyway and was wounded. He was highly decorated shoulder receiving a purple heart and bronze star for his heroism. He is a true hero in every aspect of the word. After serving his time in the Army he was honorably discharged. Upon returning home he attended Merritt College in Oakland California to become an X-Ray Technician. He worked at Levine Hospital in San Leandro California, where he worked for about 20 years. He also worked at St. Rose Hospital in Hayward California for 25 years this is where he would retire. In November of 1981 Clarence was blessed with his only child a daughter Nichole Jefferson of Cranston Rhode Island. Clarence raised Nichole as a single father, Nichole blessed him with two grandsons Jaylen Ramos and Cameron Bourgeois. In his spare time Clarence could be found at Golden Gate Fields or Bay Meadows playing the horses, that was his favorite pastime. There is probably not one family member that can say they have not been with him to the race track at some point in their life. Clarence leaves to mourn , a daughter Nichole, two grandsons Jaylen and Cameron, and his sister Connie and a host of nieces and nephews who all love him very much, He will be deeply missed.
