Cindy Abernathy was born July 31, 1959 to Mary Lou Williams (Jones) and James Edward Williams, Sr in Kansas City, Missouri.

Cindy graduated from Manuel Hugh School. she went on to pursue her education in Business at Dickerson Technical College. She worked in security for the Chiefs, and Royals Stadium; and as a cashier at Gats Bbq.

Cindy enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends. She also found joy playing various games on her phone.

On July 4, 1985, Cindy married Steven Gregory Abernathy. They were together for 30 years before Steven preceded her in death.

Cindy was blessed with three children, Cedric Lamont Williams, Marquita Williams and Steven Gregory, (Nicole) Abernathy Jr.

Cindy had four siblings James Edward Williams Jr., Dwight Robert Williams, and Linda Ann Seanior (Williams) all who preceded her death. She leaves a younger brother Mark Anthony Williams, to mourn her passing.

To cherish her memory, Cindy leaves: nine grandchildren: Hope, Shanice, Brandon, Cedric Jr, Briyanna, Markeilah, Jackson, Dominic, Mary Lou: eight great-grandchildren: Ah’mara, Navaira, Serenity, Ke’Myah, Kamari, Breland, Brian, and Ava; as well as a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and friends to cherish her memory.
