Cimone Myna Alicea-Dawson, affectionately known as Monie, was born on February 22, 2002, in York, PA, and passed away sadly on September 8, 2024, in San Juan, PR, while heroically saving someone she loved. At the time of her passing, she resided in Indianapolis, IN.
Cimone was a vibrant individual whose greatest joy came from her family. She was the beloved daughter of Yiavana Alicea and Natavio Dawson, the cherished sister of Ciera Delgado and Natavio Dawson Jr, and the adored life partner of Ronia Baker. She was also a loving aunt to her niece, Cassidy Evans, whom she considered a daughter.
A true wanderer at heart, Cimone loved traveling and made countless memories along the way. Her loyal and caring nature touched the lives of many, and she was known for her friendly demeanor and willingness to help anyone in need. Her presence was felt across multiple states, including San Juan, North Carolina, Florida, Indianapolis, Pennsylvania, and New York.
Cimone was deeply involved in her community, playing softball for the Myth Mysticks and making lasting friendships. She was a proud Christian and carried the motto “I’m standing on business” as a testament to her strong and dedicated character.
She is survived by her grandparents, Heriberto Alicea, Maria Alicea, Nadine Dawson, and Michael Grant; her mother, Yiavana Alicea; her father, Natavio Dawson; her siblings, Ciera Delgado and Natavio Dawson Jr.; as well as her aunts, Eve Curet-way, Elianna “Motzie” Burgos, and Nadine Davila; uncles Gilberto “Ito” Alicea, Ramon Davila, and Michael Grant; A loving life partner, Ronia Baker; numerous great aunts, cousins, god siblings, and friends.
Cimone was preceded in death by her grandparents Yolanda Burgos and Robert “Kemo” Bones, her aunt Erica “Booba” Alicea, and cousins Angel “Rokko” Perez and Johnnie “1K” Alvarado.
A funeral service in her honor will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Living Word Community Church, located at 2530 Cape Horn Rd, Red Lion, PA 17356. Visitation will take place from 10 AM until 11 AM, with the service commencing at 11 AM. Cimone will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
