Christopher Neil “Burley” McLaurin

August 15, 1980 – September 28, 2025

Christopher Neil McLaurin, affectionately known by all as “Burley,” passed away on September 28, 2025, at the age of 45. Born on August 15, 1980, Burley grew up with a love for the outdoors, a natural gift for building, and an artistic soul that shined through in his sketches and creations.

Burley was the beloved husband of Heather McLaurin and a proud father to his children: Cheyenne Wamsley (Justin), Savannah Spruill, Carissa McLaurin (Taylor), Xavier McLaurin, and Annbrielle McLaurin. He treasured his role as “Papa” to his grandchildren—Makenna and Karson Wamsley, Oliver Savage, Josiah Wilson, and Brynnleigh Schuyler—who brought endless joy to his life.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Teresa Wesner, and father, Ricky McLaurin, whose memories he carried with him.

Known as a jack of all trades, Burley worked as a carpenter and roofer but could fix or build just about anything. He found peace in the outdoors, and his hands were rarely still, always creating, crafting, or sketching something new. His hardworking nature, creativity, and kind heart left an imprint on everyone who knew him.

Burley’s greatest legacy is the love he gave his family. He will be remembered as a husband, father, grandfather, and friend who lived fully and loved deeply.
