Christian was my first biggest child who gave me a C-section. He was also the only child who stayed in the hospital for 3 days after being born because of Jaundice. He is the only child that gives me a run for my money because he does not listen and loves to have his own way. He is very spoil and always told me he was being treated differently because he was the middle child, and the middle child never gets treated equally but as you'll can see that's a lie.
Christian Omar Perkins, lovingly known as "CP26", was born on June 16, 2007, in Brooklyn, NY, where he lived his entire life. Christian had a vibrant personality and brought joy to everyone he encountered. His presence was undeniable, and his infectious sense of humor would brighten any room.
Christian was a rising senior at Abraham Lincoln High School and was looking forward to attending a D1 college as a 2025 Freshman. Academically, he was in very good standing. He was a natural historian, declaring history as his favorite subject. He would often share his disapproval of math and question its true purpose for anyone who wasn’t seeking a career in mathematics. Christian had a passion for football and was involved in various sports organizations, such as Abraham Lincoln's football team, The Railsplitters, Skyhawks, and Moving the Chains. He truly enjoyed the thrill of the game and embraced the camaraderie it brought. On and off the field, Christian was very competitive but always expressed it with positive energy. He had a knack for encouraging others and always wanted the best for everyone around him. His positive attitude and determination made a lasting impact on his peers.
If you did not know, Christian loved his dad’s porridge especially his favorite, Cornmeal. No matter the time of day, he was always ready for a bowl or cup of porridge. Christian had a vibrant taste in music, particularly enjoying Drill music and embracing the rhythmic beat accompanied with his energetic dancing. No one would dare say he couldn’t dance as Christian was always ready and would promptly showcase his dancing skills, technique, and flair. It brought him happiness and allowed him to express himself. He always cherished his moments spent with family and friends. Christian was a go-getter who always strived for success.
Notably, Christian had a unique personality and was known for his independent spirit. He had a mischievous side and would often push the boundaries to work his autonomy and swing things in his favor. He’d complete his chores just enough to display his obedience to his parents and then head outside but he knew that he’d probably be called back later to complete the task. Arguments with his dad were passionate, loud, and actually quite funny- he never quite let go of wearing his beloved thick hats and masks that his dad despised, even to sleep or on the hottest days of the year. He had a caring nature however, and always made an effort to comfort his loved ones. He would ask his mother about her day and offer foot rubs, reminding her to smile and let go of any stress. His presence in the household was undeniable, and his lively energy filled the room. He moved with sincerity, love and joy.
He is survived by his parents, Kibret Perkins and Christopher Perkins, as well as his siblings Shericka Walters, J'Dan Perkins, Zaire Perkins, Princeton Perkins, and Chris-Ann Perkins. His Aunts, Nakida Nelson, Shaquana Nelson, Sophia Sawada, and Muffet Perkins. His Uncles Yemmane Nelson, Windell Betancourt, Andre Perkins, and Evans Perkins. Christian also leaves behind his grandparents Doreen Nelson, Janet Dixon, and Delroy Perkins. Grand Aunts Dion Edwards and Janice Frater along with other aunts, uncles, cousins, and many other family members.
While Christian's life on earth was short in the number of years that he was physically here, it was full of life. He will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all of those whose lives he touched. In his favorite places, outside, and on the football field, Christian's spirit will continue to inspire and uplift those who carry his memory.
