Chris Douthitt, lovingly known as Turtle, passed away on July 17, 2024, at the age of 71. She was born on March 21, 1953, in Chicago, IL, and most recently resided in Sacramento, CA. Chris was a doting mother and grandmother, finding immense joy in spending time with her grandsons and granddaughters. She had a passion for fishing and relished the simple pleasure it brought her. Chris had a particular fondness for street tacos and found solace in the music of The Temptations. She was always there to lend a helping hand to friends and family whenever they needed it.
Chris's favorite place in the world was Las Vegas, where she enjoyed making memories with her loved ones. In her downtime, she could often be found watching episodes of The Golden Girls, one of her favorite TV shows. As a stay-at-home mom and grandmother, Chris took great pride in her role and cherished the opportunity to nurture her family. Known for her culinary skills, she loved cooking food out of her house and sharing delicious meals with those she cared for.
Chris will be remembered for her kind and caring nature, always acting as a second mother to her friends. She believed in the power of love and the importance of staying true to oneself. Her favorite quotes, "You'll always be in my heart" and "Love is a two-way street," reflect her heartfelt approach to life.
Chris is survived by her spouse, James Thomas Douthitt, and their children: James, Eugene, Sabrina, Marcy, Yolanda, and Jason. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her loved ones and all those whose lives she touched. She will be deeply missed.
