Obituary

On November 4, 2023, Chlorena (Chlo) Link, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away at the age of 87. Chlorena is survived by her husband, Bobby Link; her daughters, Carol and Beverly; and her granddaughter, Kelsea.

Born in Colcord, OK, to Roy (Ted) Chamberlain and Arrawannah King, Chlo was raised by her paternal grandparents. In 1952, she met Bob, and they were married for 71 years. Chlo and Bob moved with their daughters in 1959 from Tulsa to Pomona, CA, and they lived in Southern California for many years. Throughout her life, Chlorena worked as an ice cream server, cafeteria assistant, switchboard operator, and receptionist. Upon retiring in 1991, Chlo and Bob moved to Claremore, OK, and remained in the same home on Cherye Ln. since. In 1993, Carol gave them their only grandchild. Kelsea would come from her home in California for a long visit with her grandparents every summer.

Chlo will be remembered as a sociable and thoughtful person who loved to laugh, listen to music, and share meals with family and friends at home. She was someone you could always count on to call or send a card on your birthday. Chlo was a steadfast worshiper at Claremore First United Methodist Church. She found joy in creating beautiful cross-stitch pieces, hunting down treasures at local thrift stores, volunteering in the gift shop at Hillcrest Hospital in Claremore, and meeting with fellow ladies of the local Red Hat Society. She remained active as long as she could, and enjoyed walking the paths along Claremore Lake.

Chlo will be missed by the many people who enjoyed her company, but we will find solace knowing her soul is at peace and her memory preserved in our hearts.
