Cheryl Irene Loveland, beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2024, at her home in Wales, Wisconsin, surrounded by her family. She was 85 years old.
Cheryl was born on March 17, 1939, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to parents Load and Sylvia Richards. She was a dear friend to many, cherished for her vibrant personality and sense of humor.
Following her retirement as a teacher from North Lake School, Cheryl developed a passion for traveling the world with Friendship Force. She dedicated countless hours to tending her gorgeous wooded yard, camping, canoeing, and delighting in entertaining. A devoted reader, Cheryl frequented the library several times a week. She also had a passion for acting and was actively involved with the Waukesha Civic Theater, where she formed lasting friendships.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her life partner, Richmond Johnston, and her eldest son, Andre' Loveland. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Karen Loveland, and her cherished grandchildren Danielle, Codi, Brandi, and Anthony, all residing in Colorado. Additionally, she is survived by her son, Peter Loveland, and daughter-in-law, Tammy Loveland (Wisconsin), along with her adored grandchildren Tyler and his fiancée Ivy (South Carolina), Emily and her husband Ben, as well as extended family members, including Erika, and her great-granddaughter, Kallie, all residing in Wisconsin. Cheryl is also survived by Suzy Johnston and her husband Dan Lim, along with grandchildren Tristan and Logan of Toronto, Canada, along with Warren Johnston (Wisconsin).
Cheryl will be remembered fondly for her unwavering love and devotion to her family, her warmth, and her generous spirit. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
