Charles Vicente Ovalle was born on March 9, 1981 and returned home to the Lord on April 21, 2023 at the age of 42. Born to Dolene Williams and Josè Ovalle, Charles was a raised in Eaton Rapids, Michigan and as a child loved all things athletics. He was an eager, ambitious child who looked up to his older brother Adam more than anything. Regardless if they were getting into some sort of mischief together, Adam was his very best friend until his untimely passing in 1994.
Charles graduated from Eaton Rapids High School in 1999. He was a talented soccer player throughout high school and continued on to St. Thomas Aquinas College with a soccer scholarship. He helped take his teams to multiple national championships. Eventually, Charles moved on to Western Michigan University where he pursued a bachelor’s degree in business, despite being a diehard U of M fan.
Charles was the proud father of two sons, Avery and Noah, who he loved more than anything and was happiest when spending time with his boys. They were the light of his life and inherited the best traits of their father. In the last year of his life, Charlie lived in Lakeland, Florida with his loving fiancé Pamela and his dog Blue who he loved dearly. In his spare time outside of working as a construction pipe layer, you could find Charlie fishing at the lake with his dog, exploring Florida beaches, playing soccer, golfing, watching any U of M sport, trying out any and every Mexican food restaurant/taco truck he came across, and helping those around him- whether it was physically or simply lending an ear and a witty joke that would always make you feel better.
Preceding him in death is his brother, Adam Ovalle; step brother, Joshua Burch; paternal grandparents, Vicente and Ramona Ovalle and maternal grandparents, Rhea and Charles Wrigglesworth.
He is survived by his two sons, Avery and Noah; fiancé, Pamela; mother, Dolene Williams; father, Josè (Melissa) Ovalle; one brother, Alejandro (Alexis) Ovalle; four sisters, Isabela (Cambron) Ovalle, Esperanza Ovalle, Ashleigh (Ricky) Bovinette, Alexia (Dalton) Burgess; 11 nieces and nephews and many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends who will miss him fiercely.
Charles will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and being the life of the party anywhere he went. He was guaranteed to have you laughing until your cheeks hurt and he was a wonderful friend to many. He will be missed beyond words by everyone who loved him and the impact he made on others will never be forgotten.
Please join the family for a celebration of life on July 15, 2023 at Grovenburg Park in Holt, Michigan at 1pm. Please wear U of M colors in honor of Charles’ love for the Michigan Wolverines.
