Charles T. Austin, was born on August 20, 1965, in Brooklyn, NY to St.

Elizabeth Austin and the late Edward Austin. Charles was the youngest of his two sisters and brother. He departed this life on January 20, 2025, at Lankenau Medical Hospital.

Deacon Charles Austin was educated in the Brooklyn New York public school system. He graduated from Boys and Girls High-school in

Charles became a proud father to his son Christian D. Austin on January 1, 1987, in Brooklyn, NY. It was at the United House of Prayer in Brooklyn #1 where Charles met the love of his life Sherri in 1983 and once she met Christian, Sherri loved him as her own. From that moment on Charles and Sherri became the best of friends and later got married on October 13, 1990, in West Philadelphia.

Charles has been a member of the United House of Prayer for All People from birth until his transition. Charles received the blessing of the Holy Ghost in 1985. He faithfully served under the leadership of Apostle Summers in New York and the pastors of West Philadelphia. One of his happiest moments as a member in Brooklyn was when joined the MaCallough Male Ushers, where he proudly served every Sunday on his post. He also become the vice president of the youth department in Brooklyn #1. Under the pastoral leadership of Apostle H. Guiner Charles became a Deacon & was chairman of the deacon board. In 1994, Deacon Austin was inspired to asked the Honorable Bishop S.C Madison,

"Daddy Madison" for permission to start a military group for the state of Pennsylvania. Once Dad approved his request the Madison Excalibur military guards, was then founded by Deacon Austin and they have served under the leadership of the last three Bishops for over three decades.

Charles held various positions while worshiping at the United House of Prayer such as; Madison & Bailey Bus Driver, Repast Committee member, Kitchen Manager, Grace Product Agent, and Parking Coordinator for funerals & city permits. He more recently provided a lot

of House of Prayer memorabilia to promote the library in West Philadelphia for youth to learn from.

Charles worked for Greyhound and later the Philadelphia Transportation System "SEPTA" for over 20 years.

Deacon Austin affectionately known as "Terry" by family enjoyed; spending time with family and friends, cooking (especially Oxtails) and learning about new technology/computers. Many can remember his affectionate laugh and eagerness cut up or his extremely serious personality. We thank God for lending Charles to us as such an extraordinary; son, father, brother, husband, cook, mediator, historian, leader and friend.

Charles was proceeded in death by his Father Edward Austin; Brother James Austin; and a nephew Marcus.

He leaves to cherish his memories: His wife St. Sherri Austin, one son Christian(Samantha); one grandson Jason, one granddaughter Paisley, his mother Mom Betty, Two Sisters Annette (Leon) and Angela (...) Three Brother's in-law Anson (Michele); Harold (Melinda);

Terrance (Cashia); one Sister in-law Jessica, one nephew Kareem, two nieces Tieshia and Kexonna, also nieces and nephews Taneah, Brianna, Ty'Asia, Robert, Anson Jr, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, godchildren, and triends.
