Obituario

Charles Nelson Burch, affectionately known as Chuck, was born on May 21, 1939, in Zalma, Missouri. He passed away on December 17, 2024, in Mobile, Alabama, where he had made his home in recent years.

Chuck served his country proudly in the United States Navy, enlisting at the young age of 17 with the dream of seeing the ocean. He spent most of his naval career aboard aircraft carriers, a passion he continued to celebrate by visiting the Pensacola Aviation Museum in Florida.

In 1962, Chuck married the late Kahomeonawehi (Noa) Burch, with whom he welcomed four children: Melissah Ann, Nelson, Eric, and Jo-ann Burch. He later married Glenda Burch in 1997. Chuck was a devoted family man, relishing in the joy of his ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. His family was his greatest pride and accomplishment.

In addition to being a loving husband and father, Chuck was known for his diverse skill set, working as a parachute rigger, mechanic, and ham radio operator. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and chatting with his ham radio buddies. A fan of music, Chuck found joy in the sounds of Johnny Cash and Hank Williams, and he passionately supported the New Orleans Saints.

Chuck was a quiet and loving man who embodied his faith, often reflecting on his favorite scripture, Psalm 23:1: "The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want." He is survived by his two beloved sisters, Mary Walk and Karen Fish, both residing in Missouri.

His gentle spirit and unwavering love for God will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
