Obituary

Charles Lee Gray, known affectionately as Lee, passed away on June 6, 2024, at the age of 54. Born on December 12, 1969, in Cheverly, MD, Lee was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He resided in Suitland, MD, and was the owner of his own landscaping business.

Lee had a zest for life and enjoyed playing basketball and spending time with his grandchildren. He had a passion for soul food and cherished moments spent with his family around the dinner table. Lee had an eclectic taste in music, with Backyard being one of his favorite bands. In his free time, he loved playing cards and taking care of projects around the house.

No one was more important to Lee than his wife of 35 years, Dana Gray, and their four children, Ciara, Janea, Michael, and Ayanna. He adored his seven grandchildren, DaHani, KaMani, Zoey, Zack, Chance, Kentley, and Kalani, as well as his great-grandchild, Noah. Lee made it a point to talk on the phone with his kids and grandkids daily, cherishing every moment shared with them.

Home was Lee's favorite place in the world, and he found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed watching Martin and The Jeffersons on TV, and he followed boxing and basketball with great enthusiasm. Lee will be remembered for his love of cooking, singing, and his motto, "If I said it then I meant it."

Lee's impact on the lives of others was immeasurable. He had a warm and inviting presence that drew people to him, and his genuine love and care touched the hearts of everyone he knew. He will be deeply missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

In addition to his immediate family, Lee is survived by his parents, siblings, and numerous extended family members and friends. May he rest in eternal peace, his memory forever cherished by those who loved him.
