Obituary

On the 12th day of December in 1951, a gift from GOD was born to Jesse and Nellie Buckley in Robinsonville, Mississippi whom they named Charles Edwer Buckley. He was the 3rd born of the three children.

Charles accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Pentecostal Temple Church of GOD in Christ after moving to Memphis, Tennessee in 1954. As a young child, Charles was fascinated by musical instruments and would teach others. His favorite instruments were the trumpet and tuba. His high school activities involved R.O.T.C., football, Bible study, general business, and senior band. In August 1970, Charles graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Memphis, Tennessee and won a scholarship in music. He attended Bishop College in Dallas, Texas to pursue his interest in Welding. By 1975, Charles had two set of twins, but sadly three of the twin girls did not survived.

He shortly moved to Houston for a new start and worked as a combination welder. Charles was united in holy matrimony to Phyllis Mims and to this union, they were blessed with one daughter and two sons. After 35 years of a combination welder, he retired. He enjoyed working on cars and playing checkers. Charles was well known for his personality and great sense of humor.

Charles was preceded in death by his father, Jesse; his mother, Nellie; and his three daughters.

Charles is survived by his four children; Aubrey Whaley, Shanae Buckley, Charles (baby chas) Buckley, and Jelysle Buckley; his five grandchildren Taherah Whaley, Jhayden Murphy, Jace Handy, Khalee Fowls, and Amaris Buckley; his brother Jesse J. Buckley Sr and his sister Alice Boho; and wholesome nieces, nephews, and cousins.
